Liveshowlogo There were a few hiccups getting the show started last night but overall I think it went well.  To be honest, I had really wanted a better show and it kept me twisted through most of it.  Once I’m torqued I usually stay that way and so it was hard to concentrate but it went ok.  I wish I could offer better audio this week but the local recorded decided that we didn’t need that.

Last night we talked a bit about getting HD content into Windows Media Center.  Tim from HTPCentric joined the call and we moved to talking about content in general as well as video conversion for archiving.  A late start and several tangents later and we had a good show!

Thanks once again to everyone who took time to listen.  You guys make it fun!  Hopefully the show will go off without a hitch next week but stay tuned here as I may be changing hosts.  If that happens I’ll be sure to post the link to where you can listen to the show live.

    Entertainment 2.0 Live!

Liveshowlogo Last night was the third episode of the live show.  I want to thank the people who joined in the chat room.  Even though I was cut off by Skype for the second week in a row, I think this was the best show yet.

Last night I discussed third party applications for Media Center.  I had enough time to cover about six of them, all of which I think are high quality apps.

Also, starting with this episode, if you subscribe to the feed in either iTunes or Zune, you should receive this episode automatically.  If not however, you can click here to download it.

What third party apps do you use?  Leave a comment and share what works for you!

Ent20logo2 I had some problems with the podcast feed on iTunes and people were having trouble getting new episodes.  I believe I’ve fixed all of these issues and you should now be able to subscribe to show in iTunes.

There are two ways to do this:

    1. Copy the following link and use your iTunes software to subscribe:  http://feeds.feedburner.com/Entertainment20
    2. If you search for “Entertainment 2.0 in iTunes and make sure that you “see all” for the podcasts that come up, you’ll see two listings.  Be sure to select the one that actually has the author listed:  Adam Thursby.

I’ve sent a message to iTunes asking them to remove the original series so the confusion should end soon.

The good part of using the blog feed is that I’ll be posting the live show on Wednesday morning and this should allow you to get both shows by just subscribing to one feed.  Currently, Episode 2 of the live show is showing up but won’t download due to the type of file.  If I can actually get my recording software to work this week, it shouldn’t be a problem after this.

Thanks for the patience while I get this sorted out.  This is the first podcast I’m trying to manage and hopefully the problems are behind us.

    Enjoy the show!

(I’ve been able to subscribe using the same link as above in my Zune software as well so you should be all go there if you love you Zune like I do!)

Last night was Episode 2 of the weekly live show.  Had a few issues this week.  Skype decided it should end my call at one point.  Not so bad except I didn’t realize it and kept right on talking!

Anyway, coverage was thin last night but we spent the time talking about Windows 7 Media Center and several of the topics to come out over the last few days.  As I said before, a lot of the show will end up being a recap of the podcast until we can get some people calling in.

Thanks for listening last night and thanks to those who participated in the chat.  You can listen using the button below or subscribe to the RSS for the show using the one to the right in the sidebar.

If you’d like to come on the show as a co-host, please email me or send me a DM on Twitter.  I’d love to have you join!

image Last night I hosted the first episode of Entertainment 2.0 Live.  First of all, thank you to those who joined during the show and thanks to “Koolguy” for calling in!  I hope you were able to decide how you wanted to run Windows 7.

Spent the show going through my experiences with Windows 7 so far.  Having done two installations, I’ve found that an upgrade is very different from a clean install.

If you’re unable to listen to the show live, you’ll be able to listen to it just like a podcast.  Click here to subscribe to the RSS feed.  Just like any other podcast feed, you can also import it into your Zune software or iTunes.

Last night’s show was all about Windows 7.  I detailed both of the installations I’ve done as well as the good, the bad, and the ugly that I’ve found so far.  I also tried to help a caller decide whether or not to install Windows 7 on his Dell laptop.

I think I did an okay job with the first show.  Hopefully they’ll get easier as we progress, much like the podcast.  Please join the call and give your input!  Any topic related to Media Center is open no matter the main focus of the show.

I forgot to mention that since this is a live show there is zero editing done.  You’ll get to hear the goings on in my house while you listen.  At one point last night the phone rang and my wife had to run to take the call.  Also, by using skype, the quality is a lot better than calling in on the phone so I doubt that I’ll be replacing the audio with a local recording.  Enjoy!
